NOVEMBER 2012 NEWSLETTER
Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and suddenly something they say hits your spirit? The Lord takes that word or phrase to get your attention and it may not always be in context of what they were saying. That is one of the ways He does speak to us and we must keep our spirit sensitive to pick up whatever or whoever He chooses to speak through. In a recent conversation a dream was shared about Jesus specifically asking this individual if they were willing to stay behind on earth while He was taking many up to heaven. Immediately I put myself in the scenario and felt torn to my very core. Most of my Christian life has been a pursuit of the deeper life; to know Him, hear Him and to experience His manifest presence. I also do believe hearing Him must result in obedience, otherwise we deceive ourselves. To be asked to choose between actually being with Jesus and staying in an ever increasing evil world would be very difficult. This concept is not new to me, I have had discussions along this line before and have even pondered the concept of doing difficult things for Jesus.......but this time the Lord was really getting my attention to "pay attention" to what He was showing me.
Since we as Saskatchewan House of Prayer (SHOP) are called to stand in the gap for our province, the Lord shows us the times and seasons we are living in and reveals the plans and the strategies of the enemy so we can repent and pray in the opposite spirit. For instance, put simply, if He shows us 'fear' is operating, we repent for the sin of fear and the lack of trusting God and then pray for boldness, courage and renewed vision. I believe the Lord was saying to me there is a strong unhealthy mindset being released by the enemy of "wanting to get out of here", especially as we see world events unfolding that line up with end time prophecies. It is good and right to want to be with Jesus and to love His appearing but along with everything else we must submit our desires to the Lordship and timing of Jesus.
Yes I know the Churches' finest hour is upon us, for we will rise and shine and get ready for the great harvest of souls before Jesus establishes His Kingdom on Earth. But we must all admit that our day to day life of serving humanity is not always easy or glamorous and this is the test of love for our Jesus......MATTHEW 25:40 -Verily I say unto you. Inasmuch as ye have done it to the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me. I sense to give a warning of a coming tactic of the enemy, which are thoughts of disengaging from the work at hand with strong feelings of weariness, discouragement and despair. These feelings are not new to many of us but we must be aware of the way this temptation will come, clocked in the goodness of only wanting Jesus. The battle will only be won if we keep our eyes on Jesus, not on circumstances or on our thought life. If we throw ourselves into the work, we will not go the distance. If we just hide ourselves with Jesus, wanting to escape this world, we will hear words filtered through that mindset and be deceived. What we need to do is make spending time with Jesus our top priority with a daily cry to have the Holy Spirit examine our hearts to reveal any thinking that is not lined up with His thinking. It's not about escaping but when Jesus is living and ruling in us, we become the answer to the ones in this world that are bound by the systems of this age.......this is the hour to not keep silent.
MATTHEW 9:37-38-Jesus said to His disciples, the harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest. This scripture very clearly states: So PRAY........then be willing to be thrust out as one of the laborers. Pray, does not mean 'saying our prayers', but seeking Him, waiting on Him, asking for the Holy Spirit to expose our hearts and being transformed into His image. We have been seeking first and foremost the manifest presence of God and we must continue to make that our aim, but in this late hour it is time to forget about ourselves and open up our eyes to a lost and dying world. I john 3:16-Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. That may look different for each one of us. We are not called to follow a system, a man or an organization but we are called to work as His Body and we must encourage each other to know our Lord, know His ways and know His voice. Let us not walk in fear or hopelessness but see what God is doing from His perspective and be made willing in the day of His power. We have been created for this hour. We do not want to just get out of here but we want to get into the work that God has ordained for us from the foundation of the world.
For the love of the Lord and the love of His Kingdom
